My first PhD student Mr. Maharana Pratap Singh has recently submitted his PhD thesis and has joined Prof. Jiro Hirokawa’s research group (along with Dr. Takashi Tomura) to pursue his Postdoctoral research at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. Mr. Maharana is a very humble person with sheer intelligence, strong integrity, and hardworking perseverance; together we spent numerous memories including the difficult Covid period. Dr. Anirban Sarkar from IIT Mandi and myself are organizing a special session on the topic “Recent Trends in Beam-scanning Antennas Module and Subsystem for 5G and B5G Applications” at 29th International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (ISAP 2024), which will be held at Incheon, Republic of Korea from November 5 to 8, 2024. Mr. Saim Rehan, an M.Tech. student from the AEM research laboratory, has received the prestigious IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Eugene F. Knott Memorial Pre-Doctoral Research Grant for 2023.
