Test requests can be accepted on non-Labcorp forms. Our staff will verify the testing details with the ordering provider. Please bring the test request form your doctor provided, along with your insurance information and identification, to your local Labcorp facility.

Getting your results

Most test results are available within 2-5 days of collection. Yet some complex testing may take 14 days or more. Quest sends completed test results directly to the ordering doctor for review. Results will also be available in your MyQuest account as tests are completed.

However, if you're asking about the price, our Quest prices are lower simply because our agreements with Quest are a bit different than those with Labcorp. Both Quest & Labcorp are America's largest clinical laboratories that we've partnered with for collection and processing of specimens for our customers since 2005.

If you purchased your own tests from Quest, your lab test results will be delivered to your account as soon as they are available. This is generally 2-5 business days from the time the sample is received, depending on your test.

Labcorp's certified laboratories provide mass spectrometry confirmation for non-negative rapid test drug screens. Mass spectrometry confirmation results are typically available within 48-72 hours after the specimen is received in the laboratory.

In general, the detection time is longest in hair, followed by urine and oral fluid. Drugs in hair may be detectable for up to 90 days, whereas drugs in urine are generally detectable for one to seven days (or longer in chronic users) and in oral fluid from five to 48 hours.

Some urine samples can be analysed quickly using dipstick and the result is available on the same day. For other tests we may need to send the urine to the laboratory and this can take 5-7 days for the results to come back to the practice. These are sent electronically and checked every day by the GP's.

This test provides a drug screening with rapid results for customers who require a quick turnaround. In most cases, results will be available about 1-2 hours after providing a specimen at the lab.

If the initial drug test is positive, the MRO will contact the donor to see if they are on any medications or have any other legitimate medical explanation for the positive result (usually within 24 hours). If the donor does not answer, the MRO may leave up to three voicemails. The donor is given 72 hours to respond.
